A Podcast Interview for National Pregnancy and Infant Loss & Awareness Month
In honor of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month I shared my story about Infertility and loss.

This week, I’m sharing a podcast episode I recorded with Abbe Feder, host of the Women’s Wellness Podcast and founder of InCircle Fertility. After an incredibly painful six-year journey through unexplained infertility, including multiple losses, an ectopic pregnancy, four IUIs, four retrievals, eight transfers, a surrogate flaked on us, and a termination for medical reasons, she emerged on the other side with twins. She has channeled her experiences into a business that exists to support others, and I am honored that she chose to share our episode to kick off National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month.
As I told Abbe, I continue to share my story in the hope that someone out there will see a little bit of themselves in my story, and it will give them hope that there is a light at the end of the tunnel or that, at least, they’re not alone in their struggles.
Please share this episode with someone in your life who needs to hear my story. You can listen to it here.
Words of the Week
“Grief, I’ve learned, is really just love. It’s all the love you want to give but cannot. All that unspent love gathers up in the corners of your eyes, the lump in your throat, and in that hollow part of your chest. Grief is just love with no place to go.”
— Jamie Anderson on Dr. Who
Photo of the Week
A photograph I took through the car windshield while Michael was driving across the Brooklyn Bridge. I’m sharing it today because I think it resonates with the feeling of life after a profound loss. Color fades from your world, and a veil of tears is always hiding just behind your eyes, ready to be activated by a memory, comment, or interaction. The wall of tears remain invisible to others as you look at the world through a new filter of grief.
Over time, windshield wipers push the water droplets away, and they move to the fringes of your consciousness. But they never go away. A part of you has forever been changed and will now experience the world differently because of what you’ve experienced.

Your words are simply beautiful. Prayers and love to you and to all those grieving through unimaginable loss. Thank you, as always, for sharing.
