Let's Go for A Walk: Discover the Sidewalk Secrets of NYC
Two new tours. Dozens of sidewalk secrets. One unforgettable walk. Join me!

If you watch people stopped at a corner in NYC, you’ll notice what most of them do next: check their phone. I’m guilty of that too, but more often you’ll find me scanning the sidewalk and wondering what secrets I can uncover in plain sight.
That curiosity has led me to discover why spray-painted dots appear above NYC sewer grates…
The surprising story behind this curious sculpture in front of a residential townhouse on a quiet block…
And even has me walking into the woods in Central Park to show people the oldest manhole cover in NYC.
Following the success of my recent sold-out walking tour for the Municipal Art Society, I’m excited to bring back my walking tours for the spring and summer. You’ll find information and a link to purchase tickets for upcoming tours here.

This weekend my family and I discovered a hidden oasis—a rooftop park with easy access to food and drinks with clean bathrooms. Yes,this rare trifecta was in New York City! Although it opened two years ago, yesterday was the first time I visited Pier 57’s rooftop park. My family stumbled across it after a satisfying lunch at the Indian counter-joint Ammi (meaning Mother in Hindi/Urdu). The views from the park are stunning—Little Island to the south, the Highline before you, and Midtown Manhattan to the north. We even spotted a cluster of goslings with their mother (image courtesy of my stepdaughter Marianna’s Instagram story). It’s the kind of park I wish I’d discovered sooner so don’t miss out. Add it to your NYC bucket list!
