I Love this so much , Lia! I did not play sports as a child, but I did have a talent for reading poetry and short stories aloud, so I was very involved in the speech club at school. The crowning achievement of my high school career was making it to state reading O. Henry’s The Last Leaf! I’ve always had an image in my mind of that setting, but never actually explored the source. I am so excited to go check this out now! I’m definitely gonna sign up for the tour!
This is amazing, Aransas!!!! Wow, I love that you made this connection from the newsletter and OF COURSE you made it to State. You're a natural on stage. Love this so much <3
I have a good book on those early days of Greenwich Village/West Village. It's The Improper Bohemians by Allen Churchill, published in 1959.
